Subaru isn’t making bold EV promises or flooding the market with prototypes. Instead, the brand is quietly putting the pieces in place, and in 2026, that work will start to show.
The brand will have three EVs available in the U.S. by mid-2026: the Solterra, which is already on sale, and two all-new models: the Uncharted and the Trailseeker. With all-wheel drive, strong range estimates, and charging access via the Tesla Supercharger network, these EVs are designed for real buyers who need year-round capability, not just hype.
While others try to dominate the EV conversation, Subaru is focusing on execution, and that’s exactly why we believe it could become one of the most trusted EV brands on the market next year.
Subaru will expand its electric lineup with two new models launching in the first half of 2026: the Subaru Uncharted and the Subaru Trailseeker.
The Uncharted is a compact electric crossover designed to fit into the lives of Subaru’s existing customer base. It’s built on the same platform as the Toyota bZ4X and offers both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive options. The FWD version is expected to deliver over 300 miles of range, while the AWD variant delivers up to 338 horsepower and just under 300 miles of range. Both trims will support fast charging and come with access to Tesla Superchargers via the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector.
The Trailseeker is Subaru’s more rugged EV SUV, revealed at the 2025 New York Auto Show and scheduled to arrive shortly after the Uncharted. It features a dual-motor AWD setup, 375 horsepower, fast charging, 3,500 lbs of towing capacity, and off-road driving modes built into Subaru’s X-Mode system. Ground clearance is expected to match or exceed that of the Subaru Outback.
Both vehicles reflect Subaru’s commitment to capability, safety, and practical range, not luxury trims or futuristic gimmicks.
Subaru’s EV goals are clear and measured. The company has publicly stated it’s targeting 600,000 global EV sales annually by 2030. That’s about half of its total vehicle sales, representing a significant long-term shift.
Instead of chasing headlines, Subaru is sticking to its strengths: build vehicles that are safe, functional, and trusted by people who drive in all seasons, often off the beaten path. Their partnership with Toyota has allowed them to scale EV development efficiently while still delivering a Subaru-worthy experience.
With the 2026 launches, Subaru moves from being a one-EV brand to a full electric lineup, covering key price points and segments for mainstream adoption.
New EV models mean new questions from shoppers, and the answers need to be clear, fast, and digital.
These are the types of questions Subaru EV shoppers will be asking on dealer websites and in dealer showrooms. Dealers who can answer them in real-time, not just in person, but on their VDPs and lead follow-ups too, will convert more EV traffic.
